Is my daily dosis of 5 mg prozac causing my constant tiredness?
December 10th, 2009 . by adminThis is what my doctor(s) say and thus they refuse to do any other test except for a blood test.
Do I just need to accept the constant tiredness ?
Your dosage of Prozac is a very low level. I recently asked my doctor to up the dosage from 20mg to 30mg. He was fine with that and said the 20mg was not a high dosage. I have not experienced the tiredness that you have. I have been using Prozac for six years for anxiety, but it is also used for depression. tiredness is a sign of depression. Perhaps you should be on a higher dosage. I’m amazed at how little some doctors know. Maybe you could do more research on the internet, but change doctors if they can’t help you. Good luck.

Fluoxetine (Prozac) is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (bothersome thoughts that won’t go away and the need to perform certain actions over and over), some eating disorders, and panic attacks (sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks). Fluoxetine (Sarafem) is used to relieve the symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder, including mood swings, irritability, bloating, and breast tenderness. Fluoxetine is in a class of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It works by increasing the amount of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that helps maintain mental balance.
