Can anyone recommend vitamins/supplements, etc. for boosting energy?

March 8th, 2010 . by admin

I don’t take any vitamins at present and am also anemic. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I actually don’t take vitamins either, I saw a commercial for One A Day Energy. I’m sure they can be purchased at your local drug store. Hope that helps. Good Luck—

Just make sure the vitamins don’t contain lead. See the article on MSN.

Since you are anemic, you should really consult a doctor before taking anything.

Forget vitamins and supplements for now. The important issue is that you have a well balanced and nutritious diet. Remember that vitamin supplements don’t do anything without food. They are not a substitute for food but just provide a supplement to accommodate a deficiency in ones diet. Your best bet is to make an appointment with a professional nutritionist to establish a diet plan for you that will provide all the nutrition you need while boosting your energy levels.

B vitamins in general will boost your energy. General Nutrition sells a B-50 and a B – 100 pill that has 50 or 100 milligrams of each of the B vitamins. Note – from personal experience do not take them before you go to bed. It will make sleeping difficult. Also from experience, the boost from B – vitamins seems less than from coffee. For anemic condition I would check with a doctor. I would recommend reading some books on vitamins for more information. You need more than just B – vitamins.

Everyone needs supplements these days as our food supply is so lacking in nutrients. I used to be anemic (I am a vegetarian) and I tried taking iron supplements from the drug store – but they made me sick to my stomach. Shaklee has a great multi with iron called Vita Lea. All Shaklee supplements are scientifically tested with double-blind placebo testing by independent labs.
B vitamins are very important for energy, but they need to be taken in a balanced complex with all 8 B’s, since they work best together. Most companies leave out Biotin or don’t put enough in because it is the most expensive B.
Finally, Shaklee has Energizing Soy Protein that you use to make shakes. It’s a great pick- me- up and keeps you going for hours, by keeping your blood sugar level more stable.
I used to be tired all the time, and this stuff worked for me. You won’t notice a dramatic effect immediately as it takes a little while for nutrients to build up where they are needed. But within a month or two, your body should be running great.

Here’s some reviews on a number of energy products. Since these are actual people reviews and not marketing hype, I would recommend one of them, particularly the Emergen-C…
